Lebanon does not need another news outlet. It needs political analysis that explains what is happening beneath the headlines, and why the country continues to move in this direction.

The Lebanese state is gradually breaking down. Its institutions are weakened, obstructed, or emptied of their role. In parallel, Hezbollah has built and maintained a power structure that operates beyond the authority of the state, makes unilateral decisions on war and peace, and answers to no Lebanese institution.

Traditional media reports events as they happen. PolyBlog compliments their work by offering narrative essential to our understanding of the crisis.

Mission:

Polyblog is committed to preserving the integrity of Lebanon’s narrative. We comment, analyze, and offer structured opinions on consequential events as they take shape. Through our journalistic work and digital productions, podcasts, documentaries and short features, we innovate communications and storytelling to advocate for the interests of Lebanon, a country long cursed by geography and history, but not bound to remain as such.

A hundred years since greater Lebanon was established, we look toward a future where the state functions, our territory is not a permissible battlefield, and the people of this country make informed political decisions in a democratic system free of intimidation, sectarian fears, and economic vulnerabilities.

This simple ambition requires freedom to be inseparable from sovereignty: the freedom of individuals to think, speak, organize, and participate politically, and the freedom of communities to live safely without political violence, armed domination, or imposed loyalties.
